There’s a reason organ and tissue donation is considered “the gift of life.” One organ and tissue donor can save or improve the quality of life for up to 50 people. But because the need for donation far exceeds the number of donors, many of those waiting for a transplant never receive their second chance at life.
For those on the waiting list, that second chance at life depends on the generosity of someone else – someone who has joined their state’s donor registry and informed family members of that decision. The simple decision to become an organ donor can make an extraordinary difference in the lives of those waiting for a transplant — not to mention an incredible impact on their families and friends.
