GET GAME – GIVE LIFE® is all about!
As the centerpiece for each event, the half-time ceremony features:
• Brief remarks from a prominent local transplant physician to provide a first-hand perspective on the importance of organ donation and the essential steps to take to become an organ donor
• A few heartfelt words from a local celebrity, sports figure or athletics director
• Transplant recipients and donor family members on the court
• The signing of the state’s donor registry
• GET GAME – GIVE LIFE® T-shirt toss to fans by team cheerleaders
At each event, GET GAME – GIVE LIFE®
teams up with members of the local transplant community – including recipients, donor families, organ procurement organization staff, physicians, surgeons and transplant center staff to help educate the public about the importance of organ donation and register new donors on site.
